Knowledge Graph solution update for flexible, scalable data management

Leipzig, Germany, 16 July 2019 – The German tech company eccenca has released version 19.07 of its Enterprise Knowledge Graph solution Corporate Memory. The solution enables companies to quickly and flexibly integrate and link heterogeneous data distributed over hundreds to thousands of systems. In a current client project for Inventory Management and Smart Supply Chain, using Corporate Memory reduced the data preparation effort by 50 % compared to data silo based execution. At another major client, Corporate Memory provided complete transparency on personal data and its use in the company for GDPR compliance management . It was not necessary to restructure the IT or carry out complex data migration projects. Data management in the Knowledge Graph is carried out exclusively via metadata.

With the new release eccenca reacts in particular to Oracle’s decision to end its free support for Oracle Java SE 8 at the beginning of the year. Commercial users of Java SE can only hope for security updates against a paid subscription service. »In order to guarantee our clients the highest possible flexibility in their data projects, we rely on open standards for Corporate Memory. Oracle Java SE has been a reliable platform for our solution for many years. However, we also want to ensure long-term support for our clients. That’s why we migrated the new release to OpenJDK. This guarantees long-term support, especially with security updates,« says René Pietzsch, Head of Product Management at eccenca, explaining the decision to switch platforms. »Of course, this does not result in any changes or restrictions for our clients«.

Furthermore, Corporate Memory 19.07 extends access management and makes it more flexible. Companies can now use the full integration of Keycloak to control access management on the Knowledge Graphs company-wide.

Modern data management needs to integrate several data sources with heterogeneous data at a wink. The enterprise knowledge graph of Corporate Memory not only creates a centralized view on all data within a company. It also reduces data preparation by a magnitude.
